Our Work

Here are more lamps.  They are numbers 56 - 68.

$210

Depending on how you measure/define smallest, this could be it!  Very simple design, but a whole lot of fun is going on.  It has three small gauges and sits on a recycled base from an explosion proof light that was left from spare parts (No, it didn't explode.  At least, I don't think it did!).  There is a simple push button switch that operates the single light.  It is made from black pipe.  I really liked this one, but didn't love it.  Adding the glass insulator as the shade did the trick.  I now love this one!

A repurposed meter that I replaced is now operational using the dimmer knob at the bottom.  There is a toggle switch that operates the single light.  A gauge is off to the right and a metal sign sits atop the lamp base.  The small base the meter sits on is actually the lid from the meter.  All of that sits on a base made from pallet wood.  The recycled insulator is the shade for the light.  The lamp body is made from black pipe.  Just another fun one!

I don't do multiples of a lamp because I want each lamp to be unique.  Having said that, however, I don't think I violated that philosophy with the next three lamps.  With the next three, I did make the same style of lamp but with three different materials/fittings.  These lamps do a nice job of showing how just changing the materials and fittings can completely change the look of a lamp.

The first of the three is made from copper pipe with push fittings.  It is reinforced throughout with threaded pipe and a corner brace.  It has a single light (fun switch plate cover) that is controlled by a standard switch.  There is a red gauge in the back and a shut off to the right for style.  A few sprinkler heads are added for authenticity!  The base is made from copper-plated zinc and old pallet wood.

Here is one of my first attempts at a floor lamp.  I really struggle with keeping the weight down because these can get really heavy due to their size.  In this case, I did use conduit instead of black pipe which made it about 3 tons lighter, or thereabout.  It has two explosion proof lights that are run by an old elevator panel box from Kone.  There are a couple of indicator lights that are run by the switches in the panel box.   A hefty lamp requires a hefty base and that's what this one got from all parts of an old pallet.  Bonus:  the old pallet was an old Coca-Cola pallet as you can hopefully see from the picture.  I am glad I was able to salvage that part of the pallet.  I am very happy with the way this turned out.  I think I will try to do more floor lamps in the future.  Sorry for the cruddy picture - these are hard to get good pictures of and my photographer isn't the best, but he tries.

This lamp has three rotary switches that control each of the three lights individually.  The shades for the lights are old glass insulators and provide a really neat look.  The base has been painted red and is an old gear (I believe).  It is made from black pipe.

A nice compact lamp that has a single switch that controls a single light.  The new thing here is that there is a small cylinder to conceal the wiring (I wanted something other than a bulky gang box.) which works really nicely.  There are three gauges.  It is made from black pipe and the base is old pallet and fence wood.

Another lamp for windy areas!  This lamp has one toggle switch with a blue covering that matches the blue indicator light that is right above it.  The blue indicator light makes it easier to find the switch in the dark.  It has an explosion proof light (yes, they're back!) that has been painted blue.  So, there is a lot of blue in this lamp, especially when you include the blue pallet wood in the base.  It has a three gauges, with the two larger ones glowing in the dark!.  It is made from black pipe and the base is pallet wood with an old machine tag.

Another nice, compact lamp.  It has four gauges and one switch that controls the single light.  It has a small cylinder that hides the wiring (I really like this look.).  The base is a small, old pulley.

This lamp has a quarter-turn switch that controls the main light.  There is a separate toggle switch with green toggle cover and green indicator light that operates the small green LED light in the back (can be used as a nightlight).  There is a single gauge.  It is made from black pipe and the base is pallet wood.

I wanted to add more wood to some lamps and I certainly did it with this one.  There is essentially a wooden wall, made from old pallets, held up by a black pipe frame.  The wall helps hold up the lamp and hide some of the black pipe.  It has a quarter-turn switch that operates the single light.  There is a single oiler in the middle.  This has a really cool, old time look.  I am very happy with how this turned out.
