This lamp is a lot of fun with the five identical gauges in a small, compact area. Who knew you could put so many gauges in such a small lamp? Each gauge sits atop a tee fitting with a hex plug to close up the end. There is a single switch that operates the single light, enclosed in an old glass insulator. The lamp is black pipe and the base is a small pulley holding everything up. With the cover for the junction box being painted to match the black pipe, all the wiring is hidden so as to provide a nice, clean look.

It was time again for another fire alarm switch and here it is. The fire alarm does control the light on top in the white cage. The red cover toggle switch operates the red panel light while the clear cover toggle switch operates the digital voltmeter above the panel light. As I've done before, I combined the copper pipe/fittings with black pipe/fittings to give a nice, contrast in metals. Did you know they sell red diamond plate? You do now! I was very excited to find this online because it adds a great touch. The base is an old window painted white. There is a single gauge because, well, why not. People always love the fire alarm and this one is no different.

This lamp has a couple sneaky parts to it. The lesser of the two is the gauge that is tucked in behind the switch at the bottom. It does nothing but look cool, once you see it. The real sneaky part is the switch that is hidden in the water meter cover. You have to lift the lid to access it. It controls the small glass insulator night light in the back. That must mean that the switch on the left controls the glass insulator at the top, and it does. There are three identical gauges that round out the lamp. The lamp is black pipe and there is silver diamond plate on the base that is wrapped in an old window that was painted black.

Right smack dab in the middle of this lamp is a clock. The shell that it is housed in comes from an otherwise unattractive gauge that had a really cool shell. This really give the clock a little something extra. There are two identical gauges on either side of the clock. Also, there are two long Edison bulbs, one on each side of the clock that are controlled by the single switch at the bottom. This is a perfect example of how a little can really go a long way. It isn't flashy, but it is really neat. The lamp is black pipe with a large pulley for the base.

I love finding a great piece to build a lamp around and this one has it. The DeVry multimeter is the star here. It was stripped down so that I could run a voltmeter and light from the same box. The top switch is a dimmer switch for the single light while the bottom switch controls the voltmeter. I had to add some diamond plate to the box because the original meter didn't work and it was a little too big for newer meters. Also, and this happened a couple of times, I had to add legs/feet to the back of the box because the light was causing everything to tip backwards. Easy fix that looks cool. The lamp is made with black pipe. As I mentioned, I was ecstatic for find the multimeter and I love how this one turned out.

I am very happy how this one turned out because the design isn't my usual style in the sense that it is much taller than it is wide. However, I think it turned out great. The switch on the left operates the Edison bulb on top and the switch on the right operates the little night light in the middle. There are three identical gauges to pull everything together. The lamp is black pipe with an extra heavy duty pulley for the base. Because of the base, I could go taller with this one!
Update: There is a neat story with this one. The client who bought this was (very!) hesitant (understandably) because she didn't really care for the color of the base. I told her that when possible, I try to keep the pieces their original color and that's why I kept it, not because I loved the color. After a ton of debate she wound up buying it with the understanding that she could very easily paint it any color she wanted. Well, she did paint it the color she wanted and it turned out amazing (she sent me a picture!). If she is okay with it, I will add her picture to the website (she is a better photographer than I am!!)! She took it and really made it her own. I am so happy she bought it and made the change and is so happy with her new lamp! This is why we do what we do!!!

It is very subtle, but the bottom gauge isn't a gauge. It is actually a clock that has a face that is designed to look like a gauge. I loved this face when I saw it online and it worked out so cool with this lamp. I am so happy with this! Also, there are four actual gauges that stayed gauges. There are two switches that work the lights at the top independent of each other. The lamp is black pipe with an old pulley as the base.
